ICJ Releases Order on Allegations of Russia Committing Genocide in Ukraine

On March 17, the International Court of Justice released an order outlining the allegations of genocide in the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine. The order responds to Ukraine’s application, filed in the Registry of the Court on Feb. 26, and follows a hearing on March 7 that the Russian Federation did not attend. In the 22-page order’s concluson, the court notes the results of a 13-2 vote in which the court decided, among other decisions, that “[t]he Russian Federation must suspend the military operations that it commenced on 24 February in the territory of Ukraine.” You can read the order here and below.
