Justice Department Files Premotion Letter Before Dearie

The Justice Department filed a premotion letter identifying global issues before Special Master Judge Raymond J. Dearie, to review before he begins his scan of seized materials from the Mar-a-Lago search.

The parties agreed on three main categories of issues that Dearie will have to consider while conducting his review of the documents—document categorization as presidential record or personal record, executive privilege, and verification of the detailed property inventory.

Additionally, both sides will submit briefs arguing their positions on each issue by Nov. 8, with response briefs due Nov. 12.
