“The significant advantages of silicon-based photonics allow for smaller, lower cost, higher performance photonic devices, which can be used in a variety of applications, including, in the consumer, industrial, medical, and defense industries. All these applications depend on the high-performance infrared imaging found in SiOnyx’s image sensors,” according to the lawsuit filed against Apple.
