In Makela v. Apex Hospice and Palliative Care, the plaintiff filed suit against the hospice care provider, claiming she was unlawfully retaliated against and terminated because she repeatedly opposed the provider’s efforts to admit patients who didn’t meet the standards for hospice care under Medicare.
